Ohh, what a trip we had!

The 2019 PSSAG Study Tour began on 24th July 2019 when 17 farmers and dealers headed to the USA for 2 weeks of learning and adventures. From the 360 Yield Center “Proving Grounds”, to farm visits around Illinois, and a day at the iconic Precision Planting PTI Farm – and that was only in the first 3 days!!

From here we travelled to Nashville for some down time to explore the country music vibe of Downtown Nashville.  Our second week began with a Jack Daniels Distillery tour and a memorable lunch at Mis BoBo’s, before heading off to Tait Farms for a farm visit.

While in the state of Georgia we visited a peach farm, cotton farm, Demot Peanut Company, Expo Farms, and dinner at Coney Lake Ranch with the Commissioner of Agriculture of Georgia. We finished out the week in Atlanta where we began watching a live baseball game before abruptly finishing due to rain, rain, rain, heavy rain (we did pray that we could take some home to Australia with us … I think it is still on its way!).

The next day we announced our Mystery Trip location which saw us in Puerto Rico for 3 fabulous nights. We had fantastic weather and experienced some beautiful culture and amazing experiences.

This trip would not have been as great as it was without the input of the 17 people that attended.  We all had a great time, below are some comments made by some of the farmers and dealers that attended the trip:

“Trip of a lifetime.”
“A great trip – plenty of free time and a cool mystery location.”
“An opportunity of a lifetime was given to us, where we were able to travel to learn lots and reflect on our own learnings upon our return.  We met new people from Australia and the world and found we all had that common language called ‘farming’.”
We have decided to run the trip every 2 years with our next PSSAG Study Trip being 2021.  If you would like to register your interest in this trip, and be first on the email list when details are available please Contact Us
